Diagrams

Below are the diagram illustrations I have produced. If you click on one, it will fill your screen and you can toggle back and forth between them all.
Sedimentary Facies
This diagram was produced as part of a textbook for the Dinosaur Academy program by the Big Horn Basin Foundation. Each bubble shows a magnified example of what mineral and rock particles would look like at that point. Breccia, Conglomerate, Sandstone, and Siltstone labels show where along the weathering process those rocks form. I was trying to show how the textures and materials in rocks correspond directly to their formation, allowing geologists to learn about their history.

Types of Igneous Intrusions

Pictured is a subduction zone, perfect showcasing common igneous formations. Sills and dikes are intrusions that intrude existing rocks, forming elongated shapes that cut across rock beds in the case of dikes, or cut between them in the case of sills. Plutons are large upwellings of mantle that often form dome or ball shaped igneous deposits. Batholiths are accumulations of many plutons. I drew this for the Dinosaur Academy program by the Big Horn Basin Foundation.
